Funeral services were held April 11 for Albert August Overbeck, 96, of Hazlet. He passed away April 4 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Jersey City, Albert served his country during WWII and was a POW. After returning home he became a Jersey City police officer. After retirement Albert went on to be the warden of the Hudson County Corrections Facility. He was an avid reader, loved all animals and music. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Albert is survived by his two daughters, Donna Hope Overbeck and Robin Elizabeth Overbeck, a son, Albert Alan Overbeck, as well as five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jean Overbeck as well as his parents Albert and Rosina Overbeck, mother, Rosina Overbeck.Services arranged by the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Morganville.
