The entrance fee is $10 for the 5K and $5 for the fun run.“We are especially excited for the walk/run this year because we will start and finish the race from the Milbridge Medical Center, where Elaine served the community for more than 30 years,” said Chris Kuhni, executive director of the resource library.There also will be children’s activities and a cookout following the race.As in previous years, participants are encouraged to form teams of family member or friends to tackle the 3.1-mile course.The top runners will receive awards and the individual and team that raise the most donations will receive prizes.Elaine Hill died in February of 2009 after a battle with breast cancer. She is remembered for her life of service as a nurse at the Milbridge Medical Center.In her memory, the Women’s Health Resource Library established nursing scholarships offered each year to a graduating senior at Narraguagus High School and a non-traditional student pursuing a nursing education.
