FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Beatton Airport Road Fire remained near 15,000 hectares after a day of warm weather and strong winds.With gusts up to 45 km/h firefighters were facing another day of challenges with the fire. The wind was pushing the fire to the north for most of the day.According to the Williams Lake Tribune, a structural protection crew from Williams Lake spent Monday protecting a ranch near the Beatton Airport Road Fire.- Advertisement -In a quote provided to the Tribune, Williams Lake Fire Chief Des Webster said the ranch is 300 acres with several buildings. “We will be here until at least the weekend.” The fire is estimated to be four or five kilometres away from the ranch.As of Monday night the fire remains 45 per cent contained.An evacuation order and alert remains in place for residents near the fire.Advertisement Below is a map of the areas under an evacuation order and alert.
